Teaching students to think critically, creatively, and collaboratively in a dynamic world.
I’d like wish you a very happy new year. I wish you the best for this coming year, and hope you spent the holiday season among loved ones and friends. After a restful winter break, our students and teachers returned revitalized and ready to master 2019. In this second half of the school year, our students will continue working in our progressive program.
Our program combines the best educational approaches from multiple philosophies to create a unique learning experience, focusing strongly on mental health and socio-emotional development through our Life Skills classes.
Through our work in Social Constructivism – we offer the opportunity for children to build and design their own theories in small Groups of Investigation. These small groups allow children to question, examine, create, solve, interpret, debate and think critically.
Our Reggio Emilia inspired philosophy – shines a light on the principles of respect, responsibility and community, in the context of a rich learning environment (the third teacher).
With the Montessori approach – we incorporate practical life skills into our daily routine, which empower the children to play an active role as a member of their home and school community. They have a sense of purpose and belonging.
We believe children are unique, highly capable beings who develop at their own pace. It is the role of educators to nurture, support, and celebrate each child as an individual.
We cultivate the ability to wonder, to question, to explore, to discover, to think critically, and to be compassionate as students pursue their interests while mastering the skills required to be happy, effective members of society.
We are a community that nurtures the socio-emotional well-being of each individual, so they can become a well-rounded citizen of the world. Students are guided to master major concepts, processes and skills as they build connections between ideas.
Children are given opportunities for self-directed inquiry as well as collaboration with their peers. The goal is to teach children “how to think, not what to think” as they prepare to be outstanding global citizens.
La Piazza Academy is a loving environment that has nurtured a love of reading, an appreciation for the arts, and a healthy sense of self in my child. It has also helped him become fully bilingual, and with their Mandarin program, soon to be trilingual.
I value all the teachers and their daily commitment to my son and recommend this school to my friends without hesitation.
Our oldest son has been attending for 2 years now and we recently enrolled our youngest. Both boys are super happy. It says a lot about a school when your kids are eager to attend school.
LPA, in my opinion, is the best pre school. It’s such a cozy and nurturing environment for kids. They have great teachers that truly care for your child. And the academic program is A+. I’d definitely recommend this school for any parent.
My son has attended La Piazza Academy since it’s opening and now as a Kindergartner has a deep love and enthusiasm for learning.
I am so grateful to have found this special school and would recommend them to any family looking for a unique educational experience, that focuses on the social, emotional and intellectual development of each child.
My son loves La Piazza. He runs to the door every day excited to go to school. The teachers are fantastic and truly care about my child’s well-being and education.
She is always present, available, and communicative. You can tell that everyone at the school loves working there. It’s a great environment and I am so happy my son goes there.
