Rhythms of Learning

Music Program

Music is woven into the fabric of our daily lives at La Piazza, filling each moment with the joy of sound and rhythm.

It is a language that speaks directly to the heart, inviting children to move, sing, and breathe in ways that awaken their spirits. Through songs, dances, and gentle breathing exercises, students cultivate a deep, resonant appreciation for rhythm, melody, and harmony.

In PreK-4 and Elementary School, the magic of music comes alive twice a week as children take part in violin, piano, and guitar lessons. Guided by internationally acclaimed maestros, students are offered the chance to explore both the timeless beauty of classical compositions and the vibrant energy of contemporary pieces. Music theory naturally weaves its way into their learning, and they are encouraged to express themselves through original compositions, nurturing not only their technical abilities but also their unique creative voices. Each note, each chord, becomes a building block for their growing musical and personal expression, allowing them to compose a soundtrack of their own unfolding journey.

Olga Lopez

Elementary Music

Miss Olga’s journey to La Piazza began long before she first walked through our doors in 2017. A world-renowned pianist and beloved music educator, she brings with her the soul of a performer and the heart of a teacher—each note she plays, each lesson she gives, echoes with decades of passion and purpose.

Originally from Venezuela, Miss Olga’s life has been a symphony of dedication to the arts. For over 30 years, she led the Manuel Alberto Lopez School of Music, guiding generations of musicians with grace and precision. Her contributions have been recognized with the highest honors, including the Municipal Music Award of Caracas, the Andres Bello award from the Venezuelan Ministry of Education, and a nomination from the Latin Grammys.

At La Piazza, she invites children to discover the language of music, one key, one melody at a time. With warmth, humility, and unwavering joy, she nurtures their curiosity, celebrates their creativity, and reminds them that music is not just something we learn—but something we live.

Liamna Pestana

Elementary Music

Miss Liamna’s journey has always been guided by music. A lifelong musician since 1990, she joined La Piazza in 2021, bringing with her a deep reverence for sound, story, and the strings that connect them.

A prize-winning guitarist and graduate of the Syracuse University School of Music, Miss Liamna is an expert in a variety of stringed instruments—from classical and baroque guitars to the lute and lyre. She is also a soprano vocalist and has recorded four studio albums with various ensembles.

Her passion extends beyond performance; she has given lectures on the evolution of the guitar from the Middle Ages to today, blending history and artistry with grace.

At La Piazza, Miss Liamna invites children to discover music as a living, breathing language: one that awakens curiosity, honors the past, and nurtures creativity.

Sara Gonzalez

Preschool Music

Miss Sara, a lifelong musician from Spain, joined La Piazza in 2017. Her journey took flight after winning the Soloist Musician Competition in Eindhoven, Holland. For over a decade, she toured Europe, her music echoing through grand halls and quiet corners alike.

In 2014, she arrived in the United States, where her passion deepened to include the study of music education, yoga, and mindfulness. By 2016, she had embraced the path of the educator, bringing the rhythm of compassion and creativity into every learning space.

Miss Sara continues to share her gifts beyond the classroom—on stages, in theaters, on radio and television. Through her collaboration with the Adrienne Arsht Center’s Accessing the Arts program, she offers inclusive classes to individuals with special needs, believing deeply in the power of music to connect, uplift, and heal.
