Progressive Education

Our program combines Social Constructivism, the Reggio Emilia philosophy and Montessori education.

These ideologies not only value the human spirit but also the development of the whole child – physical, problem solving, academic, social, emotional and creative areas.

Progressive education provides the tools for active learning that utilize the innate curiosity in all children. Education is successful when children are inspired to delve broadly and deeply into learning.

Changing Education Paradigms

21st Century Learning

Our innovative programs teach students to think critically, creatively, and collaboratively in a dynamic world. Our responsibility is to prepare students for the challenges and opportunities they will face as members of the global community. It is our joy to ignite the spark for a life-long love of learning.

Our cutting-edge curriculum and modern facilities provide students with the tools they need to be problem-solvers, innovators, and explorers. Our graduates are uniquely prepared to participate as academically brilliant, reflective, responsible citizens and active members of the global community.

Through an interdisciplinary approach to learning, we offer STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) learning opportunities so our children can master the skills necessary to explore and engage with the world.

Groups of Investigation

Humans construct their knowledge in social environments. We offer the opportunity for children to build and design their own theories in small Groups of Investigation. These small groups allow children to question, examine, create, solve, interpret, debate and think critically. The children discuss their ideas in reflection meetings and collaborate as a group of analytical thinkers.

Social and Emotional Development

The socio-emotional development of a child is imperative for academic success. A happy, confident child learns best.

At La Piazza Academy, we nurture the whole child as a member of a family, a classroom, and a community.

Our meetings are designed for children to share their voice, identify their feelings, and construct healthy coping skills. Children are guided through conflict Development to be constructive collaborators. As parents go through the journey of parenthood, we offer them support from our child therapist partners at Stop Parenting Alone.

Experiential Curriculum

An experiential curriculum and supportive teachers encourage students to tackle problems as well as to embrace adventures and challenges rooted in real life situations. Children are safe to take risks, ask questions, and explore new intellectual and emotional territories.

Our school program ignites the passion for learning in all children as it nurtures and supports each individual’s intellectual, socio-emotional, and physical well-being. Students are active learners who joyfully discover, deliberately explore and carefully investigate material in our project-based curriculum.

An Engaging Environment

Classroom and school environments are thoughtfully designed and arranged in a way that engages and informs students beyond the direction a teacher provides. The goal is to create an atmosphere that fosters creative exploration, demonstrates respect for children’s work, while encouraging encounters, communication, and relationships.
